Conference Room Connector (CRC) Hybridpaid

Meeting rooms with previous-generation systems do not have to be thrown away. They join Zoom meetings with one button through a node in your network, and one consolidated stream goes out.

What it is

Conference Room Connector, CRC, is a bridge between standards-based SIP and H.323 video systems and Zoom meetings. In the cloud version the system dials a Zoom address and joins a meeting or webinar, and when registered to Zoom's SIP proxy it also gets device management, calendar integration and call control.

CRC Hybrid moves that work to a Zoom Node in your network. Meeting rooms connect to the local node, the node takes their streams, multiplexes them and sends one consolidated connection to the Zoom cloud. By default a module holds up to 8 simultaneous HD rooms, and modules can be added. As with Meetings Hybrid, hybrid and private meetings are supported, but CRC Hybrid works on its own and does not require Meetings Hybrid.

Inside the meeting the room systems have chat, reactions, layout control and one-button join. Together with API Connector Hybrid the schedule from the calendar reaches the system. For new meeting rooms there is Zoom Rooms, for existing systems CRC Hybrid.

Requirements
  • A Zoom Node in your network, one slot per module
  • SIP or H.323 systems in the meeting rooms
  • Up to 8 HD rooms per module by default
  • API Connector Hybrid for the calendar, optional
  • A CRC Hybrid module licence, paid

The systems stay, the traffic stays, the cloud is one

Re-equipping twenty meeting rooms is expensive. Sending twenty streams to the cloud is too. CRC Hybrid removes both questions.

Old hardware in the new platform

SIP and H.323 systems join Zoom with one button. The investment in meeting rooms keeps working.

One stream out

The node multiplexes the rooms and gives the cloud one connection. The link is not saturated by video systems.

Private meetings too

Meetings that must not go to the cloud are available to the room systems as well. The same private mode as Meetings Hybrid.

Capabilities

What you get from CRC Hybrid

Connection, capacity, modes, control

SIP and H.323

Standards-based video systems join Zoom meetings and webinars. Compatibility at protocol level, without replacing equipment.

A node in your network

Meeting rooms connect to the Zoom Node on site. The node receives, multiplexes and redistributes the streams.

Up to 8 rooms per module

By default a module holds up to 8 simultaneous HD rooms. More rooms means another module or node.

Hybrid and private meetings

Both modes are supported. A private meeting does not send the room systems' media to the cloud.

Does not require Meetings Hybrid

CRC Hybrid works on its own. Meetings Hybrid is installed alongside if it is needed for the apps too.

Chat and reactions

Room systems get in-meeting chat and reactions. The meeting room takes part on a par with the apps.

Layout and one-button join

Layout control from the system and one-button join by schedule. A meeting room without instructions on the wall.

Calendar

With API Connector Hybrid meetings from the calendar appear on the system. One button and the room is in the right meeting.

Licensing and availability

The module is licensed separately, paid. A Zoom Node on site, SIP or H.323 systems and account administrator rights are needed. The module's system requirements are documented by Zoom.

Scenes

Where it works

Wherever the meeting rooms are already equipped and the platform is changing

01

Moving to Zoom while keeping the meeting rooms

Twenty rooms with previous-generation systems keep working. Replacement as they wear out, not all at once.

02

Head office and branches

Branch systems join meetings through a node in their own network. The backbone to the cloud is not overloaded.

03

Closed meetings

Private mode: the meeting rooms take part in a meeting whose media does not leave for the cloud.

04

A mixed fleet

New rooms on Zoom Rooms, old ones on CRC Hybrid. One platform, one schedule.

05

Webinars from the hall

The hall's system joins a Zoom webinar as an attendee or a panelist.

06

Deployment with RightConf

Inventory of the systems and a compatibility check, sizing modules by the number of rooms, deploying the node, configuring one-button join and the calendar, training. Then support in Russian.

Where it is used

Typical scenarios

A fleet of meeting rooms

Dozens of rooms with previous-generation hardware.

Transition period

Zoom is rolled out gradually while the old kit is still in service.

External partners

Counterparties join from their own endpoints.

What you need for deployment

Requirements
  • A virtual machine in your data center
  • An inventory of existing endpoints and protocols
  • A Zoom Node license and the CRC Hybrid module
  • A calculation of simultaneous session numbers
