The DLP API sends events about messages that match a rule to an external system: you define your own policies and keyword lists, and Zoom reports the matches.
Unlike Chat Etiquette, which works inside Zoom and simply stops the message, the DLP API is designed to pair with a corporate data loss prevention system: events go where incidents from email, file storage and messengers are already collected.
The rules apply to both in-meeting chat and team chat — covering both of the fast channels sensitive data usually leaks through.
