One space that fits everything: text, data tables, embedded materials and collaboration — from notes after a meeting to a project plan that lives and changes along with the work.
Zoom Canvas is a flexible workspace inside Zoom Workplace. It's more than a document editor: one surface brings together long-form text, structured data, embedded materials and collaboration. That lets a person move from capturing ideas to organizing information, tracking tasks and preparing materials without jumping between different programs.
That flexibility makes Canvas suitable for very different work: meeting summaries, project planning, preparing materials, organizing research, describing processes, several departments working on a shared task. Canvas isn't tied to one format or one scenario — free-form text and steady, rule-based operational work are equally at home in it.
Canvas is part of AI Productivity Suite together with Paper for long documents, Sheets for spreadsheets and Slides for presentations. One important difference with Canvas: its AI capabilities are available to paid Zoom Workplace plans and don't require a separate ZoomMate or AI Productivity Suite license.
Usually there's a wall between the discussion and the work: you talk in one place and go do the work in another. Canvas removes that wall
The team discusses the project and gets a meeting summary — and that summary becomes the basis of the working document. Nothing has to be rewritten from scratch in another program.
Zoom AI expands the short summary into a structured document: sections, tasks, next steps. From there the team edits it together and adds reference materials.
The document doesn't close after the meeting: steps get checked off, links and files accumulate, data in the tables changes. The work and the description of it stay in one place.
From free-form text to tables, forms and automations — on a single surface
Free-form layout and formatting: notes, plans, commercial proposals, briefs, working materials. The space doesn't dictate one structure — it adapts to what you're writing.
The same document holds structured tables with several views of the same data. That's why Canvas works not only for writing, but for running projects and recurring processes.
A form inside the document collects responses straight into a table next to it. Handy for requests, team surveys and gathering requirements — with no separate service and no manual transfer of answers.
Images, audio, video, web cards and links to materials from other services live inside the document. Context and reference materials sit next to the work, not in the next tab.
Zoom AI creates text, rearranges sections, writes summaries and suggests next steps, drawing on what happened in Zoom — meetings, discussions, things written earlier.
Inside the tables, AI helps fill in fields, spot patterns and make sense of the accumulated information faster. The document becomes a place where data is worked with, not just stored.
Several people edit the document at once, including during a Zoom meeting. Discussion and editing move at the same pace instead of taking turns by sending versions around.
Notes are left right in the text and a colleague is pulled in with a mention — approvals and feedback don't need a separate messaging channel.
Who sees the document and who can edit it is set to fit the team: from a personal draft to material open to the whole company.
Recurring tasks start from a ready-made structure, and existing files move into Canvas — there's no need to build a document from a blank page every time.
A submitted form, a meeting summary, a chat notification and a task update link into a single chain. Routine work around the document runs itself instead of you reminding colleagues by hand.
To be straight with you: Canvas's AI capabilities are included in paid Zoom Workplace plans and don't require a separate license — unlike Paper, Sheets and Slides. That said, Zoom AI features run on the US infrastructure and in English.
Anywhere a discussion should turn into work instead of staying in notes
A working document grows out of a short summary: decisions, owners, deadlines, links to materials. Agreements don't scatter across chats and personal notebooks.
The project description, a table of stages and several views of the same data live on one page. The manager can see both the intent and the current state.
Drafts, reference links, images and video come together in one place until the material is ready. After that it can be finished properly in Paper or turned into a deck in Slides.
The policy, the request form and the table of requests sit side by side. The process isn't only described — it's run from the same place.
Materials, excerpts and conclusions accumulate in a shared space, and AI helps pull them into coherent text. Observations don't get lost between stages of the work.
A shared space where every department brings its part: one version of the truth instead of five files with “final” and “final-2” suffixes.
