Zoom works, no VPN is needed, only card payment fails. Three ways to pay, today's prices in roubles and buying under contract.
Zoom works in Russia. Checked by us on 6 September 2026: registration goes through, the app downloads and updates, meetings, webinars, chat and recording work, no VPN is needed. The free plan is available with its usual limits.
One thing does not work: payment with a Russian bank card on Zoom's site. The payment is rejected before it reaches the bank. So a company that needs paid Zoom buys licences through an official partner, under contract, in roubles, with closing documents. What it costs today is in the table below.
Yes. Zoom has not introduced restrictions for users from Russia and has not left the market. The service is available from any device: computer, phone, browser, a Zoom Rooms meeting room. Russian companies, schools and universities use it every day. RightConf, an official Zoom partner, has been selling and servicing licences in Russia without interruption since 2018.
What we check on the first day of every month:
If in your experience any of this has stopped working, write to us: we will re-check and update the page.
No. Zoom in Russia opens directly, without a VPN, on a computer and on a phone. This applies to the service itself: the zoom.us site, the app and calls.
There is one case where a VPN hinders rather than helps. If it is on, Zoom sees you from another country, and sometimes the account country, the billing address and the connection address stop matching. For calls this does not matter, but when trying to pay on the site it can cause a refusal. For work, switch the VPN off.
Connection quality is a separate matter. The meeting "freezes", participants hear each other with a delay, the camera will not switch on? This is almost never a block. The cause is an outdated version of the app or the network. The first thing to do: update Zoom and restart the meeting. What to check next is covered in the installation and sign-in guide.
An honest list of what is unavailable in Russia or works differently. It is short.
| What does not work | How exactly |
|---|---|
| Payment with a Russian bank card on Zoom's site | Visa and Mastercard cards issued by Russian banks are not served by the international payment networks outside Russia, and the Mir card was never accepted by Zoom. Details in the next section |
| Russian numbers in Zoom Phone | Zoom telephony does not issue local numbers in Russia. Internet calls inside Zoom work, but a city number through Zoom Phone cannot be obtained |
Everything else Zoom is bought for works: meetings up to 30 hours, up to 1,000 participants, webinars, recording, chat, whiteboard, meeting rooms, single sign-on, user management.
Zoom takes payment through international payment processing. By the first digits of the card number it sees the issuing bank. It rejects cards of Russian banks before the request even goes to the bank. So it makes no difference which bank it is, what the amount is and which plan: the refusal comes from the payment gateway.
This is not a block of the service and not a ban on using Zoom. The product itself works. Exactly one step does not: retail payment by a private individual's card. For a company this step was inconvenient even before. A card purchase gives neither a contract, nor an invoice, nor a certificate. The licences end up registered to whichever employee had a card at hand.
A search for "how to pay for Zoom from Russia" returns dozens of articles. They all come down to three schemes. Let us compare them not by convenience but by what matters to a company: price, risk and documents.
| Payment intermediary | "Grey" licence or key | Official partner | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A service takes roubles and pays Zoom with a foreign card | A licence is sold inside someone else's corporate account or as a "key" | A contract with a Russian legal entity, licences on your account |
| Price | Zoom's price list plus the intermediary's fee, usually 5–20 %, and its own exchange rate | Below the price list: someone else's corporate discount, which can be taken away from you | Price in roubles at the Central Bank rate on the payment date, without fees or transfer mark-ups |
| Who owns the account | You, but payment is tied to someone else's card | The seller: they are the administrator, they see the settings and can revoke access | You: your administrator, your users, your recordings |
| Documents for accounting | The intermediary's receipt, no contract and no VAT | None | Contract, invoice, acceptance certificate, VAT invoice |
| Support | Only Zoom's site in English | Through the seller, if they answer | In Russian, from the partner |
| Risk | Breaks when the card changes or the service closes | Zoom disables such accounts when it checks | None: this is Zoom's standard sales channel through a partner |
| Who it is for | A private user, one licence | We advise it to no one | A company, from one licence |
A payment intermediary suits a person who needs one Pro licence for themselves and does not need documents. It does not suit a company: the expense cannot be booked, and access to the account depends on someone else's card.
About "grey" keys, plainly. Zoom sells licences to companies with a volume discount, and some of those licences are resold one by one. The buyer gets a seat in someone else's account, where the administrator is not them. When Zoom finds such an account, it disables it together with everyone sitting in it.
An official partner sells the same thing you would buy on Zoom's site, but under contract in roubles and with documents. Zoom works through partners all over the world. This is the standard scheme, not a workaround. What a partner gives on top of the licence itself is covered in Why RightConf.
Below are RightConf's prices for Zoom Workplace licences for legal entities. Amounts are recalculated at the Central Bank of Russia rate on the payment date; shown here is the calculation at the rate in force on 6 September 2026. VAT of 22 % is a separate line, as it will be on the invoice.
| Licence, per user per year | Excluding VAT | VAT 22 % | Total with VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zoom Workplace Pro | 18,686 ₽ | 4,111 ₽ | 22,797 ₽ |
| Zoom Workplace Business | 24,188 ₽ | 5,322 ₽ | 29,510 ₽ |
| Zoom Workplace Enterprise | on request, from 250 licences |
The add-ons bought most often, per month:
| Add-on | Excluding VAT | VAT 22 % | Total with VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Large Meeting, up to 500 participants | 5,499 ₽ | 1,210 ₽ | 6,709 ₽ |
| Cloud storage, additional 30 GB | 1,100 ₽ | 242 ₽ | 1,342 ₽ |
| ZoomMate, AI assistant | 2,200 ₽ | 484 ₽ | 2,684 ₽ |
A licence is needed by whoever hosts meetings, not by every participant. Participants join by link for free. A company of three hundred people where twenty managers schedule meetings buys twenty licences, not three hundred. What each plan gives is covered in Zoom pricing, the full price list for every product on the pricing page.
Zoom accepts US dollars, and some of our customers with a bank account outside Russia pay in dollars. If you paid today, 6 September 2026, in dollars, the prices would be:
| Licence, per user per year | US dollars, excluding VAT |
|---|---|
| Zoom Workplace Pro | $215.80 |
| Zoom Workplace Business | $279.35 |
The rouble and the dollar price are linked by the Central Bank rate on the payment date, so both tables are updated together, on the first day of every month.
| Pro | Business | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Licences per account | 1–99 | 1–250 | from 250 |
| Participants per meeting | up to 100 | up to 300 | up to 1,000 |
| Meeting length | up to 30 hours | up to 30 hours | up to 30 hours |
| Cloud recording | 10 GB per licence | 10 GB per licence | unlimited |
| Single sign-on (SSO), managed domains | no | yes | yes |
| Webinars | bought separately | bought separately | 500 attendees included |
| Who it suits | A small team, consultants, teachers | A company with an IT department that needs SSO and policies | A large company, many meetings for hundreds of people; how Enterprise differs from Business |
If you are not sure whether you need Business or Pro is enough, start with the question of single sign-on. Do employees sign in to Zoom with a corporate account, and does an administrator manage them centrally? That is Business. No? Pro covers almost everything.
RightConf has worked with Zoom as a partner since 2015 and is authorised by Zoom in a territory of 46 countries; the list is on the company page. The licences appear in your company's own Zoom account, while the contract, the invoice in roubles and the closing documents come from a Russian legal entity. This is Zoom's standard sales channel through partners, not a workaround.
The sale is corporate, not self-service. There is deliberately no "pay" button on the site: almost always, before an invoice, we need to understand which configuration you need, not sell the maximum plan.
You leave your contact details and describe the task briefly: how many people schedule meetings, whether you need webinars, meeting rooms, telephony.
We propose a mix of licences and add-ons for the task and name the timeline.
Issued to the legal entity, an invoice in roubles at the Central Bank rate on the payment date, VAT as a separate line.
We create the account or transfer it to your company, set up the domain, single sign-on and administrator rights.
We train staff, answer questions in Russian, and remind you about renewal in advance.
More about the procedure, documents and renewal on the buying page.
A separate case, government organisations: the delivery terms for them differ; check with us before planning the budget.
The business customer comes with a task, and the IT department has a veto. So that the veto does not happen after payment, go through this list before the invoice.
If employees sign in to all systems with a corporate account, you need the Business or Enterprise plan: SSO exists only there. On Pro people sign in with email and password.
All accounts on your corporate email can be gathered into one. Then an employee will not create a personal Zoom on a work email. This is a Business setting, and it is best switched on from day one.
Who can record, where, with what retention; whether you need end-to-end encryption and what it switches off, how it differs from encryption by default. This is set by the account administrator, and we set it up together with you during rollout.
If the company has meeting rooms with equipment, count them separately: Zoom Rooms is licensed per room, not per user, and is not part of Workplace.
A licence is needed by whoever schedules meetings. Usually that is a tenth of the staff, not all of them.
In a year the person leaves, and the account with the recordings and settings stays tied to their card and email.
A seat in someone else's account is disabled together with that account, and no one will warn you.
Paid-for seats that are not in use cost the same as working ones. Why a do-it-yourself rollout stalls is covered in a separate article.
If the licences are registered to a personal or foreign card, you do not need to abandon them and buy again. Tell us how it is set up now, and we will propose how to move the account to a contract with the company while keeping users, settings and recordings. In most cases the licences are added to your existing account, and you remain its owner.
Renewal follows the same order: an invoice before the term ends, closing documents, no interruption in service. We remind you in advance so the end of the subscription does not fall in the middle of a working week. If you have a subscription through an intermediary and it is ending, renewal under contract can be arranged on the same account.
Everything above comes down to one thought. The question "does Zoom work in Russia" was settled long ago: it works. The real question sounds different: how does a company buy it so that the licences belong to it, the expense is in the books, and support answers in Russian. That is what an official partner answers. Licences here are only the beginning: then come rollout, training and support, and that is our job.
Yes. Meetings, webinars, chat, recording and meeting rooms work without restrictions. We check this on the first day of every month and put the check date at the top of the page.
No. Zoom opens directly. For payment a VPN is not needed either, and one that is switched on can get in the way.
No. The payment is rejected by Zoom's payment processing. Companies buy licences through an official partner under contract in roubles.
Leave a request, receive an invoice in roubles with VAT, pay from the company's bank account, receive the licences on your own account and the closing documents. The procedure is described on the buying page.
In the overwhelming majority of cases the cause is an outdated app, device settings or the network, not a block. Update Zoom, restart the meeting, check the permissions for the camera and microphone.
We do not make forecasts. Today Zoom works, there are no restrictions on the service's side, and its partner network in Russia continues to sell and service licences.
As of 6 September 2026 a Pro licence costs 18,686 ₽ per year excluding VAT, Business 24,188 ₽. The table with VAT and add-ons is above. The price is recalculated at the Central Bank rate on the payment date.
No, we work only with legal entities: companies, sole proprietors, educational and medical organisations.
Do not abandon it. Licences under contract are added to the existing account; users, settings and recordings are kept.
