Enhanced Media & Liminal Apps

Enhanced Mediapaid

One licence per user, and the broadcast director gets four Liminal apps: controlling Zoom from a console, isolated participant feeds into the broadcast, layouts and on-air graphics.

What it is

Enhanced Media is a paid add-on to a Zoom Workplace account. It gives access to the Liminal suite of apps for live events and broadcasts: ZoomOSC to control a meeting over the OSC protocol, ZoomISO to send isolated participant feeds into a broadcast system, Tiles for layouts and the Graphics Toolkit for web graphics over the broadcast.

The licence is assigned per user. The account owner or administrator buys the number of licences needed and assigns them to directors and engineers, who sign in to each app with their Zoom account. Working on several devices needs no separate purchase.

The same apps are also available without the add-on if the account runs events on Zoom Webinars Plus or Zoom Events as a Hub Host. Enhanced Media is for those who produce on ordinary meetings and webinars.

What the add-on unlocks
  • ZoomOSC: control Zoom from a console and automation
  • ZoomISO: isolated participant feeds into the broadcast
  • Tiles: layouts for the broadcast
  • Graphics Toolkit: web graphics over the stream
  • A licence per user, sign-in with a Zoom account

Zoom as a source in the control room, not a window on a screen

While Zoom is a window captured off a screen, production is limited to the gallery layout. With the add-on every participant becomes a separate signal.

A console instead of a mouse

ZoomOSC takes commands from consoles, Stream Deck, QLab and automation systems. A speaker is spotlighted with a button, not a click in the interface.

Every participant separately

ZoomISO outputs each participant's video and audio as a separate source: NDI, SDI, Dante. The director mixes them like studio cameras.

Graphics from data

The Graphics Toolkit turns chat, questions, polls and captions into branded web graphics that the broadcast system picks up.

Capabilities

What is included in Enhanced Media

Four apps, licensing and requirements

ZoomOSC

Control of the Zoom app over the OSC protocol: spotlighting and pinning participants, microphones, video, screen sharing, chat, participant data. Details on the ZoomOSC page.

ZoomISO

Isolated feeds of every participant to NDI, SDI, SRT and Syphon, multichannel audio to Dante and virtual devices. Details on the ZoomISO page.

Tiles

Participant layouts for the broadcast. Part of the Liminal suite, minimum version 1.2.2.

Graphics Toolkit

Chat, Q&A, polls, reactions and captions as web graphics at a URL for the broadcast system. Details on the Graphics Toolkit page.

A licence per user

The account owner or administrator buys licences and assigns them to users. The user signs in to each app with their Zoom account.

Several devices

One user works with the apps on different machines without a separate purchase. Handy for a control room with several workstations.

Minimum versions

ZoomISO from 3.0.0, ZoomOSC from 5.0.0, Tiles from 1.2.2, Graphics Toolkit from 1.0.1. Older versions will not accept the add-on licence.

Webinars Plus and Events

A Hub Host account on Zoom Webinars Plus or Zoom Events gets the same apps without the add-on. For events on ordinary meetings Enhanced Media is needed.

Requirements and availability

A Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education account, owner or administrator rights to buy and assign. The add-on is paid, one licence per user.

Scenes

Where it works

Wherever Zoom sits in the control room, not on a desk

01

A hybrid conference

Remote speakers from Zoom reach the hall screens as separate sources, the director switches them from the console.

02

A corporate broadcast

A leadership address with graphics, captions and questions from chat on screen. All assembled in the broadcast system from Zoom feeds.

03

Television and studios

A studio guest over Zoom as a full SDI signal with isolated audio. No screen capture and no second computer.

04

Education and online courses

A lecture with several teachers and polls on screen, run by one operator from a Stream Deck.

05

Events on Zoom Events

A Hub Host account already has the Liminal apps. The add-on is needed when the same production is done on ordinary meetings.

06

Deployment with RightConf

Choosing the licence set for the control room, configuring ZoomOSC and ZoomISO with the customer's broadcast system, a test broadcast, training the director. Then support in Russian.

Where it is used

Typical scenarios

Television and broadcast

Isolated participant feeds go to the mixer as ordinary sources.

Hybrid conferences

The room and remote speakers are combined into one picture with no loss of quality.

Lectures and webinars

Smooth video and crisp screen sharing when walking through interfaces and code.
